Counseling FAQs at Fairfield Counseling Center

If you're considering counseling, you likely have questions—about the process, the people, and what to expect. We've answered the most common questions below to help you feel confident and informed as you take the next step.

  • Do I need to be a Christian or a member of Fairfield Baptist Church to receive counseling?

No. You do not need to be Christian, religious, or a member of Fairfield Baptist Church to receive counseling. Fairfield Counseling Center is Christ-centered. Faith integration within counseling is client-directed. Prayer, Scripture, and spiritual discussion can be incorporated when desired.

  • What are your session rates and do you accept insurance?

Fairfield Counseling Center is a self-pay clinic. Session rates may vary by counselor type and service. We do not accept insurance at this time, but superbills may be available for clients seeking possible reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits. We accept card, HSA, and FSA payments. Please visit our Fees & Payment page.

  • What credentials does your counseling team have?

Our counseling team includes licensed counselors, associate clinicians, interns, and trained counseling professionals. Each counselor’s profile states their actual credentials, training, and areas of focus. Depending on the clinician and client’s needs, counseling may incorporate approaches such as CBT, DBT, or EMDR.

  • Do you see children and teens?

Yes. We provide counseling for children ages 2 and up, as well as adolescents and teenagers. Our counselors are trained in play therapy, Theraplay®, art therapy, and trauma-informed care for young clients.
